On January 15, 2025, the Chinese Language Teachers Association of Southern California (CLTA-SC) successfully held a Post-Wildfire Chinese Teaching and Support Sharing Session, attracting numerous public and private school Chinese teachers. The event featured presentations by teachers He Bin from Harvard-Westlake School and Li Fei from Marlborough School, who shared their experiences on course design, classroom activities, and mental health support. Participants found the session valuable, as it provided practical teaching suggestions and inspiration for future classroom designs. A significant discussion focused on designing cultural lessons for the Chinese New Year in the context of post-wildfire recovery, emphasizing the importance of understanding and experiencing traditional Chinese culture while considering students‘ mental well-being. Teachers expressed deep gratitude towards CLTA-SC for providing timely support and fostering a sense of community among Chinese educators.
