CLTA-SC × China Institute | “Chinese + Culture” Outstanding Lesson Plan Competition Now Open!

The Chinese Language Teachers Association of Southern California (CLTA-SC), in collaboration with the China Institute in America, is officially launching the call for submissions for the “Chinese + Culture” Outstanding Lesson Plan Awards, open to all K–16 Chinese teachers.

📚 We are looking for classrooms where:

Culture comes alive
Where language connects with art, history, traditions, modern innovation, and even STEM;
Where students not only learn Chinese, but also truly experience the warmth, depth, and creativity of culture.

🎯 Eligibility

All Chinese instructors in Southern California, including:
World language programs, immersion programs, weekend schools, online programs… Everyone is welcome to apply.

📝 Submission Materials (in English)
• Curriculum Vitae (CV)
• Lesson plan (according to the official template)
• Teaching materials
• A 15–20 minute teaching demonstration video (explaining how you teach and implement the lesson plan—not a classroom recording)
• Submission agreement form

🏆 Awards
• A total of 8 awards: 4 Outstanding Awards; 4 Innovation Awards
• Each awardee receives $300
• All participants will receive certificates
• A compiled collection of lesson plans will be distributed at the 2026 Spring Teaching Conference
• Award-winning teachers will be invited to present at the online/in-person workshop on April 25, 2026
• Winning submissions will be showcased on the CLTA-SC & China Institute official websites

南加州中文教師協會(CLTA-SC)聯合華美協進社(China Institute in America),正式面向 K–16 中文教師開放 「中文+文化」優秀教案獎 的徵集。

📚 我們在尋找這樣的課堂:

能讓文化「活起來」。
語言與藝術、歷史、傳統、現代創新,甚至 STEM 產生連結;
學生不僅學到中文,也真正理解文化的溫度、深度與創造力。

🎯 參賽資格

南加州所有教授中文的老師:
世界語言學校、沉浸式課程、週末學校、線上課程……皆可報名。

📝 提交材料(英文)包括
• 個人履歷(CV)
• 教案(依官方模板)
• 教學材料
• 15–20 分鐘說課影片(介紹如何教授與運用該教案,而非課堂實錄)
• 提交協議
