Immediate Opening
We are seeking a qualified, engaging Chinese (Mandarin) teacher to join our Christian after-school enrichment program serving young children.
Position Type: Part-time
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 2:30 PM–5:30 PM
Pay Rate: $30–35 per hour, based on experience
Start Date: Immediate
Future Opportunity: This position may grow into a full-time role.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience teaching Chinese as a second/foreign language
- Ability to teach Pinyin, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese
- Experience working with children
- Legally eligible to work in the United States
- Active Christian faith and alignment with a Christian educational environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching elementary and/or preschool-age students
- Experience teaching ESL (English as a Second Language) to children
- Coursework or units in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Preschool Teaching, or Child Development
- TCSOL (Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages) certification
- International Chinese Language Teacher Certificate
- Experience in after-school or enrichment programs
Responsibilities
- Teach Mandarin Chinese through engaging, age-appropriate lessons
- Prepare lesson plans
- Create and use instructional materials, including flash cards, visuals, and hands-on activities
- Develop students’ listening, speaking, reading, and early writing skills
- Apply ESL-informed and child-centered teaching strategies
- Foster a positive, respectful classroom aligned with Christian values
- Communicate and collaborate with program staff
